Power BI Commenting for Teams

Power BI commenting with accoTOOL adds approvals, attachments, tasks, audit history, and SQL writeback for governed team reviews.

Power BI Commenting for Teams

Most report commentary lives in email, chat and slide decks. It is written once, read by a few people, and lost before the next review.

Comments belong on the data point

accoCOMMENT attaches threaded comments to the exact row, cell or filter context in the report. Anyone who opens the report later sees the explanation with the number, in the same filter state it was written in.

More than a note field

  • Threaded replies with mentions.
  • Approval status on a comment, so a review can be closed.
  • File attachments for supporting documentation.
  • Tasks assigned to a person with a due date.
  • Full audit history, stored in your own SQL database.
Context that lives next to the number survives the meeting that produced it.

Governance

Comments are written back to SQL Server with user and timestamp and inherit the report row-level security, so people only see commentary for data they are allowed to see. Cloud, hybrid and on-prem are all supported.

Where teams use it

Month-end variance explanations, budget submission justification, data quality flags on master data, and sign-off trails that auditors can follow.
