Can I edit master data in Power BI?
Not with Power BI on its own: reports are read-only. accoMASTERDATA adds a visual where the owner of a record can create, edit and maintain master data directly in the report, and every change is written back to your database.
Do I need a separate MDM platform?
Not for maintaining the hierarchies, mappings and dimension records your reporting depends on. If you need an enterprise-wide golden record synchronised across many operational systems, a dedicated MDM platform may still be the right choice.
How do validation and approvals work?
Entries can be checked with validation rules and dropdowns before they are saved, and changes can go through an approval step. Every change is logged, so you can see who changed what and when.
Where is the master data stored?
In your own database: Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric or on-premise SQL Server. Power BI security and row-level security still apply.
